The procedure for temperature calibration involves the customer filling out a delivery check sheet then sending us the equipment to our Epsom office to be calibrated.
The customer check sheet includes details of the equipment and the range of the equipment to be calibrated including the minimum and maximum range as well as the number of test points.
For a copy of the check sheet please click here.
The process would involve using a calibrated temperature bath (see picture) to test the probe/sensor throughout the range requested by the customer.
PT100 and all types of Thermocouples such as T,J,K,N,R and S can be tested.
The scope of range tested should be -20°c to +150°c. This covers the lab/bio manufacturing and food industry.
The number of steps are to be determined by the customer request (a minimum of 3).
The typical accuracy for a PT100 would be 0.1°c to 1.0°c, for the Thermocouple 0.25°c to 5.0°c.
We then supply a return sheet for the customer to identify probe and to state their requirements. A clearance certificate would be supplied with all probes being sent in. An electronic certificate would be produced to show traceability.
