Consultation Service for Explosion Safety

Sartorius offers a number of products that some of our customers use in combination with equipment from other manufacturers. This is why we have to check not only the functioning of these systems, but also their safety features
with respect to explosion protection.

ATEX Article 137|138 requires operators of equipment in hazardous areas to generate documents attesting to the explosion-protection rating of the equipment. Such documentation must describe, for example, the division of zones in production areas, measures taken to protect employees, and proof that the entire system is approved for use in hazardous areas.

For most equipment combinations consisting entirely of Sartorius equipment, the relevant aspects are tested and documented in the "Verification of Intrinsic Safety" which is included with explosion-protected equipment.

For combinations including non-Sartorius equipment Sartorius can assist with generating the correct documentation (please note this would be a paid service).
